Hey guys.
I noticed a few people mentioning chocking their bridges with a block or wood or battery before they take all the strings off, but im alittle confused with which bit i need to chock up !

anyone got a picture that can help me out ?

EDIT

Hey guys,
I'm thinking about getting a Floyd Rose Speedloader.
I havn't read much about these but they seem like a great investment in my opinion.
To anybody that has tried this bridge, could you please list the pros and cons of this compared to a Licensed Floyd Rose?
Cheers.

Can anyone recommend some good springs? Mine are old/stiff. ESP Custom shop springs but haven't been able to find them on ebay anymore. Do we have a forum sponsor that caries any good ones? PS. I'm in Canada.

kramer or general recessed floyd qu

Post by danrs » Sat Jun 18, 2011 3:49 pm

Hey guys, kind of new to floyds (only ever owned a sambora strat which is top mounted)
just picked up a kramer sc3 or classic II body http://shredguitars.com/collections/dat ... 2Front.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Being recessed and somewhat new to floyds I have a few questions.
Does recessed mean you need to have a flatter heel on the neck? or do you simply adjust the bridge saddles to a higher level??
surely being recessed makes things lower and string height becomes an issue??

Im looking at either the pro lo floyd or the original. I think having a low slung floyd would be better for someone who is not completely used to a floyd...

My (rough) plans are a BKP nailbomb in the bridge with splitting options and either using a few lace sensors i have lying around (golds) or a strat middle and a strat sized p90 or tele neck pickup for the bridge...

Going to throw a tremol-no in there for different bridge options and locking tuners with a lsr nut on most likely a standard maple tele neck...

thanks for any input!

I'm going with yes!
Never heard of that approach before.

I usually do one string at a time.....
