Fav guitars of the 80's

Post by Dimesy » Thu May 20, 2010 7:50 pm

Ok so I'm interested in knowing peoples favorite guitars... Only rule is.

Had to be made in the 80's.

Can be any brand etc.

If you can throw in any extra info about it that would be cool...

Such as:

Make:
Model:
Year it was made:
Where it was made:
Construction:
Bands / Artists that used it:
Price today?:

And of course pics.

Me personally I'm a big fan of Charvel's... so here's a profile of my Charvel to kick things off.

Price new:
Make: Charvel
Model: Fusion Deluxe
Year it was made: 1989
Where it was made: Japan
Construction: 24 frets (on a 22 fret neck), Basswood body, Rock Maple neck, Schaller FR.

Really outrageous JEMs and RG's.
Bruce Kulick's Horizons and Paul Stanley's geets.

I'm huge on the Ibanez Reb Beach models, particularly the black RMB1 with the pickguard, like this nice fella here:

I also love the Carvin V220s, 'specially the more interesting colored ones

and pic is huge but this one too: http://www.gbase.com/files/store_images ... eeu_so.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Those JEM777s are awesome! They are an embodiment of all that was wrong about 80's fashion. :-D

Kickass features on them so who cares about the colour scheme even if you don't like it, and strangely I don't mind it.

I bet they would go for plenty these days right?
