Kemper Profiling Amp - Bmusic bound?

Post by phil » Fri Dec 02, 2011 6:18 pm

I won't lie, I'm fucking excited about this bit of gear. So much so, that I'm diverting my Axe-II fund toward this. Shane are you expecting these in at Bmusic? Any word on pricing? Arrival date? Availability? Anything?

So my understanding is that you can basically plug a mic into this thing, put it in front of your favourite amp and it will mimic (profile) the sound and let you store it. Is that true? :?:

Basically, yes. It will actually be mimicing that signal chain, so amp, cab and mic

Cool idea! I guess the only limit would be having the amp to profile in the first place.

One wonders what will happen within a "community" of Kemper owners, whether freely exchanging profiles will occur or even someone industrious paying for and on-selling quality profiles. Endless limitations I guess.

It's definitely an interesting concept. As an Axe-FX II owner, I'm a fan of having multiple amps at one's disposal. I wonder how well it can replicate the amp that it 'mimics'.

Very exciting idea though.

So have these come in yet Shane?
I've seen a few new videos and it seems like a damned impressive unit.
My only concern is that whenever they compare the profile to the original it's still running through the amp's power amp section, thus having tonal influence from the original amp.

Pretty cool idea. I read somewhere that it comes with "presets" of amps that they owners have already profiled. Very cool concept indeed.

I would like to register my interest as a potential customer :)

how many are expected in the shipment?
Do I need to pre order, put money down etc?
Will you have one set up in store to allow a quick trial, look/feel quality inspection type of thing?
What is the warranty period and how will this be handled in Australia?

Being a brand new product from a sort of unknown company, theres a fair bit of risk being assumed by buyers
