Eclipse USA Custom

Post by jem777az » Thu Apr 16, 2009 1:20 pm

Hi everyone.......I'm new to the board and just wanted to say hey and show off my Eclipse USA Custom I got a few weeks ago. From what I know these were only made from 99-01. I'll upload a catalog scan of the specs from the 1999 catalog.

Thanks in advance

Thanks! It play's beautifully. It had been a while since I had a guitar with EMGs and they sounded kinda sterile and noisy believe it or not, so I swapped them for Duncan Blackouts and it's like night and day. The blackouts have so much more clarity and tone, and they are dead silent too.

That does indeed look good. Is it a carve top or a flat top?
you can call me Phil if you want to
and the knot in the back adds caractor...i even have a proper Shamalama Ding Dong custom here with 4 knots on the front that will also blow any other custom guitar away for the purpose its been made for..

Yeah, don't know what's the deal with EMGs.. mine are also pretty noisy and sterile.

Nice guitar. Love Eclipses. At least this one doesn't have that cutaway/horn thing on the newer USA Eclipses which look horrendous compared to the real thing.

noisy emg means either the shielding of the pickup has broken like on my 85 :( or the wiring has gone spaghetti.
i play a megafeth style..really heavy with alot of squeals and deadened/muffing chords and it was awesome.

and the knot in the back adds caractor...i even have a proper custom here with 4 knots on the front that will also blow any other custom guitar away for the purpose its been made for..

It's a flat top, but it does have the contour to rest your picking arm. It's hard to see in pics though.

There is........I think the guy just bought it off the bay a few weeks ago and when he got the guitar it was so completely brand new that he didn't want to play it and ruin it. If it really is that mint, someone will wind up with a steal for such a quality guitar.
