Two Notes Torpedo Live

Post by Edes01 » Tue Nov 11, 2014 8:14 am

Just purchased a Two Notes Torpedo Live from Shane and have been trying it out.
I'm playing around with it.
I like the XTC cab, Cali Std and Angel cabs.
Love the differences in microphone sims.

The Uberschall tightened up quite a bit when I threw my OD808 in front of the amp and rolled back the bass a little.
Tonight I'll throw my Splawn ProMod at it and see if I get better results from the upper mids focused Marshall kinda tones it throws out.

Before calling it a night I checked my email and found that Two Notes gave me an unlimited license for their Wall of Sound plugin because I created an account and associated the device with my account.
It added some 30+ more cabinets to my arsenal.

Last night EQ'd out some of the low end from the Uber tracks that I had recorded.
The Guitars are a lot thicker and mids focused now.

The Splawn shines through this thing.
As it has a tight mid focused gain voicing.
Together the amps sound brutal.

Definitely want to try out the bass cab simulations on this thing but I'll need to invest in a preamp for it before I go down that route.

Glad you're digging it mate. The Wall of Sound thing is a rad addition! And they're always working on that.

I've got an MXR M80 Bass Di+ and I'm running it into the line in on the Two Notes simulating an 8x10.
With the distortion switched on it gives me a really thick bottom end chunk.

Oh wow, that's a cool idea. You just tried that out to see what would happen or has it been discussed online somewhere that sort of approach?

Just tried it out with the M80; a lot of guys use rack preamps (like the Sans Amp RBI preamp) with great success. I just grabbed what I had handy and tried it out.
Worked a charm added a lot of dynamics and warmth to my bass tones.
