Oh that's no good man. Was it some white sort of pitting in the black satin?

All sorts to be honest mate. The side dots on the neck were really wonky and not straight at all, the binding on the neck was poorly applied, some epoxy/glue on the fretboard as well as what looked like some filing in the wood, strap button never stayed in for more than 20 minutes and all of a sudden one day the paint on the back of the neck started to flake away and show white underneath. Very minor at first but quickly getting worse. There was a faint line running around the entire body where it looked like the paint hadn't been properly applied and in the lower horn cutaway there was a bit of a bump, as if the body hadn't been cut out smoothly. Wondering if it was a rush job as Ive been told from a few people that were at MusikMesse that it was the same guitar they had there on display (which the shop didn't tell me when I bought it :? )

Nothing major, but far from what you'd expect on a guitar that's meant to be replacing the ESP Standard Series and there were just too many to overlook, which is a real shame because it felt like a work of art. Really superb.

Hey Shane just wondering, any idea why they got rid of the LTD Elite series and moved it across to E-II? If i'm not mistaken the LTD Elite series only came out mid last year didn't it?

Guess it was just too confusing having another level of LTD jammed in between LTD Deluxe and E-II, and price point too narrowly wedged in there, people just went to E-II or ESP instead for not a whole lot more $$

Cool, yeah I had a feeling it was something along those lines. On a side note that ex LTD Elite/ E-II sunburst M-II FM is seriously doing it for me, any idea how much?

No price as yet, but I'd be snapping up an LTD Elite version when they blow out if the headstock logo doesn't bother you :smt002

I don't have white LTD Iron Cross pricing yet. When I have it the price will be published, already multiple customers waiting on the price so they can put down their deposits.

Depending on price might have to put me down aswell. :smt011

They appear to be selling in the US for just over $1000, hope the bloody distributors dont jack the hell out of the price for us all.

They are around US$1,099 in the US. Might be around $1,800 or $1,900. And that is not jacking the prices. Before anyone suggests so they're welcome to come and work for me for US wage and I'll give them US prices all day every day. ;)

The distributor probably pays 30 people Australian wages. I have to buy from these guys, I have no belief whatsoever that they're "jacking up" prices. The internet chatter that goes on about that is so completely and utterly ill-informed it's very frustrating. Never once have I seen one of those who espouses such an opinion leave their well paid job and risk their house and whatever else they own to bring in their own gear and make all this supposed fabulous wealth :) I've seen some try, they don't do it any more, and not because they retired on that wealth :smt002

Hey Shane, sorry it appears I have hit a nerve sorry that was not my intention.

At no time was I trying to have a shot at anyone, was just saying it is a bugger how much more gear costs here than overseas. Yes I know there are numerous legitimate reasons for this, and at no time meant to offend yourself or anyone else.

Please accept my apoligies :smt006

No, not at all, my reply probably came off like that, was also not my intention.
I do see it crapped on about in a more full-on sense elsewhere and it's usually utter crap. One only has to look at the price of a house in the US and see everything trickle down from there. Things are no cheaper in the US if you live there like a regular US dude trying to go about his life.

Na doesn't bother me at all. Showed the missus and she said "no more guitars till after the wedding..." so seeing as the boss has spoken i'll just save till then and hope you've still got it. Or, try and get it without her noticing.. :-D
