do not remind me. the quid has taken a dive yet again to new depths. it is almost 2:1 to the AUD now which means my new TAT will hurt a lot :(
i play a megafeth style..really heavy with alot of squeals and deadened/muffing chords and it was awesome.

and the knot in the back adds caractor...i even have a proper custom here with 4 knots on the front that will also blow any other custom guitar away for the purpose its been made for..

I only import second hand, and obviously only when it's well worth it. But I've already decided my next guitar is brand new and coming from bmusic.

Billy Hydes now advertise the Dual Recs for $4095 instead of $4595 in this 'tough economic climate' ;)

Sounds rather expensive. I'm sure Music Park in WA can beat that price...

Depends on how much stock they got, depends on what Mesa Boogie were doing themselves to try and boost sales in the 'tough economic climate', depends on dozens of factors.

From memory, I believe they can't really take too much off the price of Mesa Boogies as the markup isn't really that high to begin with...even staff members can't get too much off the price for themselves. (as opposed to being able to get say $40% off other brands)

Thing is many of the 'big' stores seem to list the RRP on their ESP /LTD stock and then take off a fair chunk (and claim to have them on 'sale') - whereas the RRP one would never pay anyways and the store will usually take it down considerably with you only asking once. Shane goes staright for the lower price it seems and cuts the bullshit... On ya' Shaney boy!

Funny that, because I've started to notice that more and more US dealers/sites/etc use "RRP" and "Street Price" in the way they price their items these days.
I'm assuming it's similar except "RRP" and "Bmusic price" :P

Pretty much. Although in the US the "MAP" is enforcable, in theory! It's the "minimum advertised price" that a manufacturer will let you list something for, which is a quasi-RRP anyway because almost everyone instantly goes to that price when they list something anyway. So the manufacturer has to give deeper discounts again to make up the profit as everyone's selling well below the "retail". In Australia a "MAP" would be illegal.

I think Apple tried to enforce something like that on iPods a few years ago didn't they? I don't know the details or anything but I worked in a retailer while I was studying and they seemed very strict that we couldn't sell them for less than a specific price.

^ Borderline breaching the competition code with stuff like that. I imagine there was more to it. A blanket statement telling a retailer what they can and can't sell something for will get you in trouble. Unless of course one hangs the threat of no supply over them in a veiled manner :)

I see BH in Melbourne no longer the preferred Mesa Boogies stockist, now going to Drum Power (that's what I thought, a drum shop????) Really needs to be better represented across the board that brand, but maybe they just can't build enoguh stock to satisfy a wider representation down here.
