Horus HGS tune

Post by Vince » Mon Nov 28, 2011 9:06 am

Hi all,

I've got a lot of dificulties to keep the tune on my Horus HGS.

I droped it like that : B E A D F# B

What strings gauge I have to use ? Is there someone here wich use his Cap like this ?
Thanks

Hi mate.
A set of .012 - .056 should be plenty for your hgs. I personally think it's a touch too heavy and use .011 - .054 for such tunings.

What strings are you using now? It may just be in need of a set up?

A Horus HGS is not an extended scale guitar, it just gives a little more room to intonate properly. For 24.75" scale guitars I would say that .012-.056 is the absolut minimum for B-standard. Personally I use .013-.062.

Indeed, I have one TAT and one Dellinger (not HGS) both tuned to B with the B-string dropped to A, and I use Elixir 12-68 gauge, and wouldn't mind going heavier... ;)
