Caparison has a new owner

Post by guitarsatbmusic » Wed Oct 12, 2011 8:45 am

We have just received an e-mail from the new owners of Caparison, a UK company. They have detailed the problems they identified in the brand with regards to supply and are addressing them. We have been invited to revisit the brand and will give it due consideration.
So Caparison lives on and Itaru is still involved.

A totally new company was formed for this purpose, it has no cross share holdings with Cranes, only one common director.
Cranes is only a retail business which will be the sole UK retailer

Prices the last you saw of them via eBay from certain sellers were unsustainable, not only for a company (as you saw) but for an entity to be represented internationally. For your info. The new prices haven't changed at a wholesale level. But don't expect the prices you saw in the end coming out of Japan from some sellers who, with the help of the brands owner essentially, trashed the brand.

So Shane, when do we find out if you start dealing with them again? :P

I'm actually quite tempted to save up a bunch of money and get a cheap flight over to Adelaide and come visit you. But of course that'll only work if you actually start stocking them again. Although you do have some pretty awesome ESPs too.

PS I'll give you call about those pickups on wednesday I think (I'm the same "VVolverin3" who emailed you the other day ;) )

Ah cool, no worries.
As to when and if we decide. We have no plans for this year at least, that's a definite. And then the decision may be taken out of our hands if they approach someone else and they decide to do it.

Just to confirm:
A totally new company was formed for the purpose of taking over Caparison, it has no cross share holdings with Cranes, only one common director.
Cranes is only a retail business which will be the sole UK retailer.
The new owners, as I mentioned, are not changing the pricing at all.
