WTB: Looking for bargain caparison... To travel with ect

Post by Jonnym » Mon Jun 20, 2011 10:46 am

    Hey all,

I'm looking for a bargain caparison, not real picky on the type as long as it's got 6 strings.
Something under $1k, in Australia, would be ideal.

Basically I have a tat sunset original and I'm moving to Canada to work, so I'm a bit scared taking it on numerous plane trips, leaving it in hotels and lugging and bashing it around.
So if I could find a used cap for cheap I wouldn't have to worry so much about it..., and still be able to halve a quality instrument to play overseas.

Anyway if someone is desperate for cash, or has one that has lots of chips etc That they are wanting to sell(but works perfectly and structurally fine), let me know

Just can't see myself playing another brand
    Cheers!

not to sound negative but i think you'll struggle to find any Caparison in Australia or anywhere for under $1000. the cheapest one ive ever bought was a beat up old angelus from yahoo japan which worked out to around $1000 with shipping.

i fly/travel a lot with all of my caparisons and if you have the right case and look after it you wont have any problems travelling with your good one. ive even managed to blag carrying some of my guitars onto flights and putting them in a coat locker saying that theyre too expensive and fragile to check in. this usually works on international flights

well I have a horus Thunder Cloud that I'm willing to part with for $1200 shipped to your door with insurance.

that's probably as bargain as you're gonna get. It's priced pretty low as it's quite beat up on the top in my opinion. a fair few dings.

$1200 is probably the best you'll get for a capa. Should take up Richie's deal. I sold my Capa Horus for 1600 a while back.

im useless at forums - didnt know i had replies..

cheers for the advice Jona, i have actually gone down that path and gotten a good case. after researching for ages i found a SKB waterproof military spec case. havent tested it on a flight yet but it looks tough as balls, and not too heavy, it has wheels which is sweet. should be able to relax on the flight to canada.
cheers Richie for throwing that offer out there, always wanted a horus, one day.

Like Jona said, cases. And most of the time you can get them onboard with you. I do this with all of my basses. normally they will let you do it. I normally carry some well padded gig bags, so if necessary I can check the cases and put the gig bags in the overhead compartment. Just an idea.

Check out my ESP Horizon on Ebay. Not a Caparison but in your price range :D Might be a decent alternative.

my original concern with standard flight cases is the weight factor, especially when i gotto lug other bags.its cool now. im going to take my tat in the aformentioned case.
