New Hammett Randall/Fortin Sig Amp!!

Talk about the rest of the rig - amps, effects, valves, leads, wireless set-ups, racks, anything that brings out the best in your axes.

New Hammett Randall/Fortin Sig Amp!!

Postby raz311 » Sat Dec 10, 2011 3:51 pm

Sounds really cool. Maybe Randall will bring out some cool shit for a change. I love the MTS range, it just needs a new view.
Also Fortin amps are awesome. Had the opportunity to hear one last year in person and that thing slays!! I think it was the NATAS model but not sure. Either way should be interesting:

Hopefully Kirk's next amp range will be a balls out Randall MTS assault.
To my ears the 1082 Dan Donegan module is still my favourite for distortion.

I need to check out the Scott Ian modules.

Ola Englund's Fortin amp clips are Godlike!
Please tell me Shane is going to start selling them in Australia.

If you have a MTS head I could lend you my 1987 module for a bit. Very nice sound to that one.

Cool to see Randall doing this, I guess in a way that Nuno ugly as shit head might have even paved the way for this idea.

From all reports, his new amp will be based on the Fortin Meathead, which is the amp in the link above.

Re-Ola: he has just taken ownership of a custom built Fortin, made by Mike Fortin specifically for Ola. Man that thing is gonna slay!!! I think he is using it at NAMM.

@Shane - can't wait to see how this goes.
I'd definitely be interested in a Randall/Fortin amp as a backup to my Uberschall.

This has gone very quiet hasn't it.
Haven't heard much more buzz about the Randall Meathead since the initial web buzz.

I know that the Meathead and Natas have been licensed by Randall for mass production.
The only other information I could gather from my searching is that Mike Fortin was working on refining his designs so they can be mass produced instead of being hand built.

This is true Shane.
Mind you it'll still be built in America or it'll be shunned by the community at large if it's built in China.
