I personally feel a bit let down about it.

I'm one of the few people who recently bought their Axe-Fx Ultras in the last few months -.-'

Regardless, I think I'll be fine with my ultra.

I wish I could install the new v11 firmware. I'm having USB-MIDI issues, AGAIN!

I need to find a 32-bit notebook, for my ESI MIDI MATE II. It doesn't seem to work on any of my 64-bit OS systems. It used to work! Damn technology!

Few new amps in there. Guys on the fractal forum are in a tizz over the Friedman models.

Personally nothing new that is super exciting to me. I pretty much stick to the Mesa MkIIC, the Rectos, the JCM800, the Bogners (Uberschalle and Ecstacy mostly) and for cleans the Fender Tweed and Vox Top Boost AC30. Which isn't a bad list when you think about it!

I'm not too concerned about upgrading to the Axe2 from the Ultra, still much potential for me to unwrap within the Ultra. When I feel like I've got all I can get out of it maybe then I'll think about it.

Still a dozen amps I haven't even explored within the Ultra!

Or god knows what else! I'm sticking with the Ultra for the time being cos it gives me tone I couldn't imagine I'd get before.

When AxeFx 3 comes out I'm hoping for a built in beer tap, with 30 different beers, modelled on schematics from the world's greatest breweries. Then my life will be complete.

Those will be digital beers, not actual beers. You can't drink 1s and 0s.

i thought the V11 firmware made a market improvement with the sag & dampening functions that i noticed. The patches do sound a tad better too.

Very very happy with my ultra + redwirez cab sims. Just recorded our new CD with one and it's sounding huge. I'm also absolutely broke so a new AXE II isn't really on the cards for me at this stage but down the track I'll definitely upgrade, the USB & headphone features & improved user banks are a massive plus.

Having heard an axe ultra recently I was completely blown away, I've disappointingly dabbled with loads of modellers over the years but never heard anything as good as this. I'm in for a II but tbh I'd be chuffed with any model. Any thoughts on speakers (active or not) power amps etc ?

I grabbed one of the Atomic powered wedges when I got my Axe Ultra and it sounds ok, not a huge amount of power but great for monitoring at home.

I'm a firm believer in running the Axe Fx direct for live use, that way you can still take advantage of all the tonal options that the power amp and cabinets sims offer. Otherwise you're really only accessing the preamp modelling and effects, which is only half the package.

I've found that my presets need some eq-ing to sound better live (at bigger volumes), just take out some highs, some lows and add a bit more midrange and you're away. As you turn up louder it accentuates the lows and highs, there's a name for it, I can never remember it, the "something effect"!
