Framus Custom Build Project

Discussion of anything from German manufacturer Framus. From the Euro fave six stringers like the Diablo and Camarillo to the bone crushing Cobra all-valve head and everything in between.

As those of you on our FaceSpace page will have seen, we've embarked on a Framus Custom Build as a collaborative effort with social media peeps.
The first post of the build is with regards to body shape and can be seen HERE

We'll keep progress up to date in this thread also. At the moment, the Panthera body shape is winning out over close contended Mayfield

Im interested in this....have we got a rough idea of prize?? Obviously I know it will vary depending on what the specs are, but are we talking like 5k+?

It will likely be north of that. Will all depend on spec but it will need to be VERY basic to be near $5k

Looks like Panthera has won out the day.
Next spec to decide upon is how many strings!

I vote 6.

7 would still be okay, but 8 or beyond is just silly.

So far we have Panthera for the body shape and a six string for the strings configuration. 24.75" is the scale length of the Panthera by default so I'm going to call that unless I get a compelling argument otherwise. Now it's time to select some body woods. A back and top. Check http://www.guitarsatbmusic.com.au/framus/customshop.htm for options and hit us with comments on the Facebook post as to what you favour.

My Cilia is mahogany body / neck with quilted maple top and ebony fret board.
Sounds like awesome sauce.
