That CJ Grimmark Horus has possibly the best sponge finish yet IMO.

I was the one who bought it from Ola, in like 2002-2003 or something, right after they recorded figure nr 5, I remember I got to hear it the same weekend as it was finished :D
Great guitar, my black one feels exactly the same. great horuses, the only ones I really liked actually, except maybe the dragonland horus with maple neck I had for awhile.

I have the Withers' Angelus ;) (thanks to Grolli :P), and yes, it has changed slightly since I got it, and I must say it's much better now. Will post pics as soon as I take some... maybe next gig (I'm just to lazy to take pics of the guitar myself, but someday... I promise).

Nothing major... just changed the pickups for some BKP custom (and the pot off course).

Dont worry, the guitar still intact :D, (and the original pickups and still in a box :D), but I cant tell you the guitar sounds way better and more powerfull now than with the EMGs. :smt002

my guitarist just started using BKP warpigs in his guitars and i find they have a bit more bottom end but definitely are not more powerful. his tone is very muffled sounding and he has nowhere near as much gain from his guitar as i do with emg 85's. his sound from his BKPs seems more suited to stoner or doom metal and his tone doesnt cut through very well. we recorded some demos and i remember we had to boost his gain a lot to get it to match mine on the recording and we had to use a lot of EQ on a plugin to get his tone to cut through.

Somethings wrong then I have warpigs in a couple of mine and also EMG's. The EMG's sound flat and defo have less gain compared. and I have tried both through LOTS of amps so im confused to why that is.

There are many things that are relevant with this... The guitar ( each guitar is different), the pickups, the amps, the cabs (very important as well), and also the hands... I can tell you for sure that the BKP I putted on it are 10 times better than the 85's that already were... (if not, I'd simply went back and put the 85 again ;)) ... Off course, this is also a matter of taste, but the combo of the Angelus Wichers/BKP/Diezel Herbert is simply awesome... (I have more gain in the herbert that I'd ever need and use, and I dont have that problem at all, even more, I must control myself, to not destroy the building..xD

Also, is a matter of "finding" the correct model for the guitar, I have many BKP, and many different (alnico Nailbomb, ceramic nailbomb, ceramic warpig, ceramic miracle man)... each has its own personallity, and they dont work the same with different guitars... (In fact, I putted a Painkiller in the Orbit, and I simply HATED IT !!! and I took them off and replaced them by a A-Nailbomb, much better now).

All I can say is my personal taste, and the guitar sounds much better now, and perfect for my band sound, melodic death... (nothing near stoner os doom)

IS that the difference that my other guitarrist will change his EMG 81 as well ;).

yeah fair enough. it might just be how he's running his stuff. he plays a first act custom with the BKP warpig through an OD808 into an orange thunderverb and a rockoverb through matamp boutique cabs with V30's. although when we recorded the demo's we both went direct into pro tools and used guitar rig 3 plugin for the amp sounds and mine was still much louder and gainier than his. i just always found passive pickups to need the gain on overdrive pedals and amps to be cranked to get the same sound as with an active like an emg
