Current Rig (new band)

Postby burkey » Fri Jul 15, 2011 7:51 pm

I'm putting together a new project and chose to run guitars totally different to what I'm used to running for fun.
My other band is heavier and tuned to drop C. I play a PRS Custom 22 and Edwards Les Paul.

So for this new one I'm in standard E and Drop D using a semi-hollowbody with P90's and a strat style single coil guitar, pretty much opposite to the other band.
Same amp (Fryette 100CL Pittbull) and pretty much the same settings, but the guitars and tuning changes the tone completely.

dude i LOVE the CL and the fatbottom cab is my favorite cab ever! I'm sure the Deliverance really juices this one up, Used to use a 2/90/2 poweramp which is pretty much a stereo UL's powersection. Nice guitars too, would love to hear this one in the flesh and its cool to see other people using fryette gear.

Cheers.

I tried all the Fryette cab range and just found the Deliverance cab sounded exactly the way I wanted.
The Fatbottom sounded great too, but I just liked the character of the Deliverance cab. Not the usual match up but I love it.

I'm the same, I'm always excited to see or hear of people playing Fryette. They're fantastic amps but you don't see many of them around.

Very nice - who stocks Fryette though?
I know that Shane stocks VHT.

Eastgate Music in Melbourne import Fryette. Not sure if they wholesale to other dealers or just sell it exclusively.
They usually have most of the heads and cabs in stock.
Not sure how available the power amps are these days, I know Marcello has been talking to Steve Fryette about the demand for them.

I was spewing when Steve sold the VHT name and logo to AXL Guitars, but I'm used to the Fryette branding and logo now. I actually quite like it.
