Shockers stuff!

Postby ShockMe.au » Fri Sep 25, 2009 4:11 pm

All rightio.
Now consists of my 20 odd year old Ibanez EX-350 with an EVO in the bridge a PAF Pro in the neck and a stocker single in the middle albeit with a purple cover for added Ibanezness...
Then there is my LTD KH-Jr. Needs replacement pups but for what I use it for it doesn't really matter, just mucking around or whilst watching TV or in front of the computer.
The acoustic is an Ibanez performance I got from Cashies in the 90's, virtually brand new. Not bad for what it is.
The "ring in LP" is an Epiphone, stock pups but sounds really good actually, I'd do a pup swap anyway being a DiMarzio fan boy, I would whack a Super Distortion and a Super 2 in it...
The Laney is the latest big purchase at a bargain price!!
Pedals are a Boss MT-2 Metal Zone, my new Digitech Bad Monkey and I am running the Boss ME-6 through the effects loop.
I have had the ME -6 for nearly as long as the Ibanez... Just waiting for the Digitech Clapton Crossroads to get here!!
Anyway some dodgey pics...

It is not the best gear out there but for me it is good enough! I would like a nice new guitar but a house has more priority!

Im in love with that Ibanez man.
Is the KH-Jr any good? I was thinking about buying one ages ago for the same perposes as yours but never got around to it.
Great rig also.

The Ibanez is definately NOT top of the range, I think the best way to describe it is top of the bottom of the range!
It was about a grand when I bought it, has a TR 101 licensed Floyd but it all works well, the neck is thin but not wizard thin, the pickups are pure Vai fan boyism yet it sounds great. My best mate used to say he liked it more than his RG 470...
I have the pups switched so I can coil split the EVO and Series/single/parallel the PAF Pro. The way i have it at the moment, when I select position two it gives a real weak twangy sound which is cool in its own piss weak way!
I am really liking the versitility of this guitar, it can do anything (within reason) the EVO can really drive the amp yet when it is split gives a great strat like sound for overdriven bluesey type tones. The way I have it wired i can have it as a S-S-S, a
H-S-H or even a S-S-H for something different...
The KH-Jr is friggin AWESOME!! It is the most fun thing, the stock pups are ok, well the neck one is well, barely OK...
But it is so much fun to muck around on and my son is starting to muck around with it more and more so yeah I would thoroughly recommend it! Cheap as chips too. Once the strings are worn in it is surprisingly stable tuning too.
It certainly is a talking point.

Get a KH- Jr, they're great, heaps of fun and with some pick up mods (I was thinking of HZ -H4's)would be an awesome geet to bring out on stage for shits and giggles! I certainly gets a reaction when people see it then hear it!
The Laney is everything I wanted. Great amp. Blows more $$$ amps away for bang for your buck, IMO.
I have LOVED JEM's for ever. Mine is basically a piss poor imitation with out the monkey grip and lion's claw. I have been toying with stripping it down and repainting it some bright colour.
Ibanez's defininately look way better the more outrageous they are! Like some recent purchases you have made!
I would love a swirl :smt007 ... But I need to buy a house more! :|

awh dude. Im on the hunt for an lng ant the moment. Worst gas i've ever had rite now but i have so much shit to fund for my band thats coming up. Cant get enough of the earlier jems tho. Use the equity on your house when you get it for a dna. Lol it would be a damn good investment - should sway the minister for war and finance.
