Re: New Gearz: Fractal Audio Axe FX Ultra.

Nice man. I'm seriously thinking of eventually getting one as well as I find I use modelling way more than my amp. How much did yours cost? Have you played it in a band situation yet?

Re: What Are You Listening To?

Animals as Leaders. Has anyone heard them? I watched these 2 videos and their guitar player seriously blew me away. I haven't been wowed by technicality in a long time (In fact I don't really like technical metal anymore) but the mix of the 8string, clean jazz like playing and super heavy Meshuggah ...

Re: The Gaming Thread.

I just bought Dragon Age. Still not sure if I'll like it, but I figured I need to at least give it a shot. The console versions are definitely the worst version and the game was more built ground up for the PC version. With a few graphics mods the PC version is far superior in every way. I feel Dra...

Re: The Gaming Thread.

Ah, my fault. Since I finished RDR I picked up Alan Wake today. It seems awesome so far. I love how it's told and presented in episodes like a TV show. Every time you finish an episode you get a "Previously on Alan Wake..." recap video. Yeah I thought it was awesome. I couldn't put ...

Re: Chris Amott's solo album comes out next Saturday

Am looking forward to this. I love Chris's work on Armageddon and his one of my favorite players of all time now. I'm thinking this new stuff might be more along the lines of his songs like Funeral in Space and Well of Sadness. Which will be cool to hear because I love those songs. cant wait to hear...

Re: Finally, a famous guitarist bashes Hamster's vibrato

I don't think his Vibrato is as bad as you make it sound sometimes >.>

I just think he chooses to use a more subtle and narrow one instead of a really wide one like Michael/Chris Amott etc. Definitely prefer wide vibrato myself though.

Re: Having fretbuzz issues with my TAT.

I'm actually not minding the higher action now. When you get used to really low action I find that it's hard to play other guitars well lol. Gotta say though the TAT sounds absolutely awesome in B. Just debating whether to replace the PH-R with something else though, like a BKP. But then I'd feel li...

Re: so much Jona hate over at that other caparison forum!

Must say Jona that I was disappointed that you left Bleeding Through. I always thought Bleeding Through were one of the most original and awesome bands in that genre. I also hate it how people think you don't deserve a endorsement just cause you can't shred like Jeff Loomis or whatever. Some of the ...

Re: I actually like the "new" Arch Enemy album

Yeah Poid you said what I was thinking. The guitars just don't grind as much as they used to. And it makes the riffing sound a lot less powerful and heavy. It's kind of a shame because the guitar tone was really good on Rise of the Tyrants, still had a bit of grit and crunchy-ness to it instead of s...
