The Caparison Horus made it's debut in 1995, more than ten years later, the
collaboration that began with Chacha maru and Horus is still improving.
The Horus features 27 frets and specially designed Caparison neck position pickup with
rich harmonics despite it's unconventional mounting position. The Caparison BH-IIR bridge pickup is
mounted direct to the body for increased resonance and response. Each Horus features a different,
original graphic finish. From 2006 the Horus features upgraded wiring and electronics, as per
Caparison endorsee specs.
The Push-push switch control allows for instant pickup switching as well as volume
adjustment.
*Please note that the guitars are made by hand so each may have a slightly
varying graphic design between them.

The Caparison Horus-HGS model came about as a result of endorsee requests. Designing and building a
HGS version of the small bodied, short scale Horus took more than a year of research, development and testing.
Horus' unique and small body shape with it's 628 mm scale was considered impossible to adapt to the HGS format,
but the use of a walnut body overcame this. The walnut maintains the tone, rich harmonics, resonance, and low end response
expected of a Caparison HGS model. The
finish of the Horus-HGS is applied so as to best retain the timbre and variety of tones offered by the walnut body.
*Horus-HGS ships set up to Drop-B tuning.

About HGS (Heavy Gauge Strings)
This unique design was produced due to requests from Caparison endorsees.
The design itself employs heavy gauge strings (10-52) for tuning down, popular in
the modern metal scene. The
bridge position is mounted 3mm further along than regularly seen on other
guitars; this is to help when adjusting heavy gauge strings to lower pitches. (On a standard guitar bridge saddles tend to be stretched back around the rear of their full travel to alow for correct intonation.
In addition, the pickup position is changed in relation to the altered bridge position.
The HGS eliminates the need for Drop C and Drop B players to shift baritone guitars in their quest for a properly intonated low tuned guitar. No need to adjust one's playing style to suit a longer neck and differently spaced frets.
The Caparison HGS range has also proven reliable for regular tuning with heavy gauge strings and holds just as perfectly with "dropped" D tuning.
